Dr. Minera graduated from the University of San Carlos of Guatemala and obtained her doctorate in Dental Surgery. After graduating at the top of her class, she was offered a position as an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in her Dental School. It was there where she developed a passion for growth and development and decided she wanted to pursue a post-graduate education in orthodontics. Dr. Minera was accepted to a three year program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey, where she successfully obtained her degree and was involved in multiple research projects and publications.
Dr. Minera is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the Southern Association of Orthodontics, the Virginia Association of Orthodontics, and the American Dental Assocation. She also belongs to the Board of the Fauquier county free clinic that helps the community she lives in and Medical Missions of Mercy -USA (MMOM-USA) that provides medical and dental services to communities in Guatemala and the Philippines. She feels blessed to have the privilege to use her skills to help others.
Dr. Minera lives in the town of Warrenton with her husband, Dr. Jorge Minera, partner physician at Piedmont Family Practice, her daughter Sofia and son Sebastian.
When Dr. Minera is not at the office working on beautiful smiles, she can be found shopping and participating in different events in town, she is very supportive of local businesses. She can also be found running the hills of Warrenton.
